Re-elect Christina Small for School Board
Five years serving on the RSU14 board have given me extensive knowledge of our district and a proven track record of putting students first. As a parent and community member, I'm ready to continue this important work.

Our schools succeed because of the dedicated teachers, support staff, bus drivers, nurses, custodians, and secretaries who show up every day committed to our students' success. The board's role is to understand how each position contributes to student learning and school operations—not to micromanage these professionals. With more than 50% of RSU14 teachers holding master's degrees or higher, they are experts in their fields. My job as a board member is to ensure our educators have the tools, resources, and support they need to do what they do best: educate our children.
Values
Public Education as a Right
Public education is a cornerstone of our democracy—a promise that every student, regardless of their background, family income, or abilities, receives the strong educational foundation they need to succeed. As a champion of public education, I believe quality schools benefit our entire community, even those families without children enrolled. I will continue to work to ensure RSU14 has the resources necessary to fulfill this promise while being mindful of our community's financial constraints.

Respect for Educators

Student Focus
Every student deserves the opportunity to learn and thrive, but the reality is that many arrive at school facing challenges that extend beyond academics. I am a strong advocate for universal state-funded school meals, ensuring no child goes hungry during the school day. I have also supported the addition of social workers to address students' diverse social-emotional needs, recognizing that mental health and well-being are fundamental to academic success.
Community Collaboration
As a regular school volunteer, I've witnessed firsthand the powerful impact of parent engagement in the educational process. Our schools are strongest when families, educators, and the community unite around our shared goal: preparing every child for success.

I believe we should aim for genuine partnerships between parents and teachers built on mutual respect and open communication. This means teachers proactively reaching out to families with both celebrations and concerns, while parents approach these conversations as collaborative problem-solving opportunities. When we replace defensiveness with curiosity and blame with partnership, we create an environment where students thrive.
